The WatchMaker Who Saved Christmas - BY Bruce Whatley

I think this book is GREAT but it's quiet difficult. I think this book is really fun to read because it well just is. I would like to read you a bit in the book because it's a bit sad but it shows that the watchmaker is a wonderful man.

The watchmaker lived behind his small shop He rented the two rooms upstairs to a young mother and her son, Peter.
Peter was nine but looked younger. When he was two, a terrible disease left him almost deaf. His mother taught him how to talk with his hands using sign language.
Peter has taught himself how to read lips.
Peter and the Watchmaker were friends. The boy would often help him clean large clocks. He liked helping the Watchmaker. He also liked to draw. He drew elephants and zebras, cars and trucks. But his favourite drawings were of aeroplane's.

I really like it how the Watchmaker and Peter's mum believe in Peter even though he is deaf. I feel very sorry for Peter because he has never even heard his own voice properly. If I were the Watchmaker I would get suspicious when he found the watch that Santa had given him the watch that Santa had given him was a watch he had never seen before and it had SC on the back.

The Mysterious Box

It all began when Megan and David were walking home from their grandma's. They knew they shouldn't have but they took the short cut through Swallowdale woods. It was beganing to get dark. An owl hooted, and the sound echoed all around them.
"Ohh I'm so scared" whispered David, "I wont to get home quickly."
"Come on then" said Megan, lets hurry. So the two children hurried the path, the leaves crunching beneath their feet. "Wait whats that?" There was a dark shadow in front of them. It was a box, a large box. The two children bent forward and began to open the lid...

My Bit>

The large box was old and rusty
"CREAK"
But before they could open it they heard foot steps in the distance. David yelled, "WHO IS THERE SHOW YOURSELF NOW!!!"
"You big idiot as if the would show them selves" Megan whispered. They both heard the same owl hoot again. They they started to run but David stopped.. And said, what about the box? "ARE YOU CRAZY?" Megan shouted."I knew you were dumb but not the dumb, I mean like I am your little sister and I'm smarter." Megan ran but David didn't... Megan finally got home and said, "Man David I thought you would actually stay in the creepy woods!"

Megan turned around and found that David was not behind her... "DAVID YOU BABOON!
Anyway back to David. David started to sweat he slowly leaned over to pick up the large rusty box. "CREAK". It was open.. There was a not. It was ripped a bit, and it looked old. It had three words he read them. David dropped the note.. CAAAPOWWW!!
A gun shot.. No one had ever seen poor poor stupid David again...

Megan is now forty years old and is still looking for David. She was eight when it happened. You know the note David dropped well Megan found it when she was twenty-three. You want to know what it said on the old ripped note? Are you sure you want to know? Ok.. But your ears may melt and you might go crazy! It said.. It said...

"Bye Bye David"..

Winn - Dixie

I like this book a lot because it has character. (Which Means It's Not Boring At All)

I am predicting that this book will be sad because it just looks like it on the front cover. I loved the start when Opal found the dog terrorising the grosery store. I found it interesting when the girl the called the dog Winn Dixie instead of like spot or spud or something. I thought she had to have some guts by calling out "THATS MY DOG". If she had parents like mine she would of got in so much trouble.

I think the gog is sooo cute and I love his name "Winn - Dixie". The part that made me smile was when Opal was detailing the dog, because she had never seen a dog smile but Winn - Dixie did. =)

Response To Love That Dog*

Today I read love that dog by Sharon Creech.

I love this book because it's a great read and thats why everyone should read it. At first I thought it was quite boring but then i actually started to get into it. This book is really sad and effectionit. The cover pretty bad and boring and that why I wsnt going to read it but I thought to myself don't judge a book by it's cover, I'm glad I rememberd that saying. I would like to read you three bits in the story because I think they all ment a lot to me.

My Sky.

Today I am going to tell you how the system works with writing block. Well I have lots of ideas
right? So Mrs J came up wih a great idea. She made writing block and it is were you can share your great stories you have made up I wrote one last year and it was called "Johny Goes WEEEEE!!" all the class laughed and thought is was a great story. So basically it's where we all share what we have made up and wrote like a story.

Hi... I am Shannon but everyone calls me Shan. I am 11 years old and I am in year 6. My favourite subjects at school would have to be sport and english because I am very good at both of them. My faourtite sports would have to be running, swimming, Hight jump, long jump, soccer and tennis. My teacher's name is Mrs J and she is teaching us about Antarctica and I can't wait to get started because I alreday know heaps about it. We have also done ancient Egypt and ANZACs.
those where great fun but I don't think they will be as much fun as Antarctica. My main friends in the class are Alex, Alice, Holly, Tegan, Taylor and Bridget.

Hi... Yesterday we all did reading block again and my group had to write about a book we are reading I would like to share what I have wrote

Title: Kira - Kira
Today I am starting a new book but I call it a fresh new start. The book is called Kira - Kira. I wanted to get out and read "Chinese Cindrella" because I've been trying to get to the book for like a year. Oh Well I bet Kira - Kira is just as good. I found out so far that Kira - Kira means Glittering.

I think Katie is lucky to have a big sister like Lynn because so far she seems to be very caring. By the blurb I feel really sorry for Katie because... 1. Her sister is getting really sick and 2. The whole family is strating to fall apart and it's all up to Katie to remind them all that there is always something Kira - Kira (GLITTERING).

Antarctica

How Reading Blocks Work*

Hi... I am going to tell you how reading block works beacuse it's lots of fun! We do 4 activities..Like computer corner, reading/responses, word games and guided reading. We all do it every day except for friday. Of course there is four groups of every one. We all do it on a diffrent day to each other. Today I got the computer corner and went on my folio and told you about well me.. And I changed my background which was heaps of fun. I think every one should do "Reading Block".
